In a medical emergency, the difference between life and death often comes down to who is in the room — and whether they’re trained. Royal HCI’s CPR, BLS & First Aid Certification course is designed for healthcare professionals and community members alike who want to respond quickly, correctly, and confidently when it matters most.
The one-day, four hour course covers the core skills required for Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including CPR for adults, children, and infants, automated external defibrillator (AED) use, airway management, ventilation techniques, bag-valve-mask (BVM) operation, choking relief, primary patient assessment, and comprehensive first aid. Instruction follows current guidelines and is taught through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on skills practice — so students don’t just understand what to do, they’ve actually done it.
CPR and BLS certification is valid for 2 years from date of issuance and is a required credential for a wide range of healthcare roles in Massachusetts, including CNAs, HHAs, nurses, physicians, EMTs, medical assistants, dental professionals, and lifeguards. Whether you’re completing this course alongside your CNA or HHA training at Royal HCI, renewing an existing certification, or simply want to be prepared, this course gives you the skills and the credential you need.
